Telemarketing Secure Sale via SponsorBice Vida is a Chilean insurance company founded in 1993, part of BICECORP and is in turn part of Grupo Matte, one of the largest Chilean economic groups. Bice Vida offers the Life Annuities, Collective Insurance, Mass Insurance, Life Insurance and Voluntary Pension Savings products. In 2020, it generated operating income of US $ 12,500 million.
Bice Vida required an IT solution that would enable the expansion of insurance sales through Sponsors and their customer portfolios. To achieve this, Bice Vida engaged Tecnova to implement the core systems supporting insurance management through the Telemarketing sales channel.
As part of the “Insurance Sales via Sponsor – Telemarketing” initiative, Tecnova implemented the following key systems:
This module indexes audio files (MP3) and associates them with the policy sales closing process. The audio files are received from Contact Centers, which are responsible for selling insurance products through Sponsors.
A set of processes designed to asynchronously receive daily files from external companies (Sponsors) containing information related to insurance policy movements for their customers.
Before applying policy enrollments or cancellations in Bice Vida’s operational systems, the processes validate both the format and content of the reported transactions. The system manages independent data structures and validation rules for each external partner, allowing system administrators to configure:
Additionally, this module generates management and reconciliation reports that are sent back to external companies for control and operational follow-up.
A set of web-based inquiries designed to support post-sales activities for policyholders enrolled through Sponsors. This module enables:
Automation of collections and payment workflows for policies generated through this sales channel. The solution also includes information exchange processes to receive and process collections and payment files related to policies and premiums submitted by Sponsors.
Finally, a services layer was implemented to facilitate seamless integration of these modules with Bice Vida’s internal systems.
The project was developed using JAVA/J2EE on Oracle IAS 10g (OC4J), incorporating JMS queues, the ADF Framework, an Oracle Database, PL/SQL stored procedures, and SOAP-based web services.
The implementation followed a modular delivery approach, with partial releases over an 18-month period. The project team included project managers, functional analysts, software developers, and QA analysts.
