Collective Insurance. Support Life Insurance Management

About BCI Seguros

Chilean insurance company founded in 1992, belonging to BCI Bank, the third private bank in terms of loans and the fourth bank in number of clients. BCI Insurance offers products for the mass market and SMEs for its General Insurance, Automotive, Life, Health and Travel products. It generated operating income of US $ 1,200 million.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The challenge for BCI Seguros in this project was to grow its customer base through customer loyalty initiatives and the creation of online services, while also attracting new clients—specifically within the scope of group life insurance products for corporate customers.

Companies that subscribe to this type of insurance must continuously manage coverage for their employees. As a result, it became strategically essential to provide a system that offered, from the customer’s perspective, at least the following capabilities: online services, self-service features, an intuitive user experience, and access to detailed product information.

To address these needs, Tecnova developed a digital experience solution with role-based functionalities, as described below:

Insurance Company Role

  • A website to manage group insurance products, with the ability to incorporate new insurance lines.
  • Enrollment authorization functionality to approve employee registrations submitted by client companies.
  • Claims reimbursement evaluation, enabling approval and processing of reimbursement requests.
  • Reports and queries to analyze business performance and behavior.
  • System administration tools for configuring business rules and specific parameters.

Corporate Client Role (Group Insurance Policyholder)

  • A website to manage contracted group insurance policies.
  • Streamlined enrollment processes for both the company and its employees.
  • Access to benefits information, products, and features for document and form downloads.

Insured Member Role

  • A self-service website to submit medical and dental reimbursement claims, including claim tracking functionality.
  • Management of policyholder and dependent inclusion/exclusion, along with automated risk evaluation for dependent enrollment forms.
  • Access to general policy information, usage statistics, and document downloads.

Insurance Broker Role

  • Access to detailed policy information, including general policy data, insured member lists, account statements, endorsements, claims, and reimbursement settlements.
  • Claims analytics reports, such as policy status analysis, expense distribution, top claimants, and most frequently used providers.
  • Production reports, including policies pending renewal, overdue premiums, blocked policies, commissions, and more.

Insurance Coverage Scope

Regarding the group insurance products managed by the system, the project scope includes the following offerings:

  • Term Life Insurance
  • Group Personal Accident Insurance
  • Supplemental Health Insurance
  • Dental Insurance
