PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Tecnova designed and built a technology solution that enables the implementation of a Customer Loyalty Model for ENTEL clients.

From the outset, a key objective was to ensure that customers could access the loyalty model through all customer interaction channels. Additionally, a core requirement was to allow customers to earn points through the use of their services. To support this, a centralized backend services layer was designed, enabling all company systems to interact with a unified points management model.

To address the system requirements, the following functionalities were implemented. Several of these were delivered as services to facilitate seamless integration with other systems:

  • Enrollment Service, enabling customer registration in loyalty programs and activation of point accumulation processes.
  • Point Accumulation Services, responsible for processing customer actions and converting them into points through a configurable accumulation rules engine.
  • Points Accumulation Rules Engine, which converts actions into points based on defined conversion rules. For example, earning 10 points for every 100 outgoing call minutes, or 100 points for every US$100 spent on device purchases.
  • Points Expiration Engine, managing point expiration based on aging rules.
  • Redemption Services, allowing customers to exchange points for goods or services, such as discounts during mobile device renewal processes.
  • Integration Services with External Merchants, enabling the use of points to purchase third-party products or services, such as event tickets.
  • Bulk Point Load Processes, supporting regularization activities or the assignment of special or extraordinary benefits.
  • Cross-Program Redemption Services, enabling point exchanges with loyalty programs from other companies.
Additionally, a Back Office web application was developed to manage key system parameters, generate reports, and support administrative and operational tasks.

TECHNOLOGIES USED

Technical Project Details

The backend was implemented on the Oracle WebLogic platform, with services built on Oracle Service Bus and an Oracle Database. Additionally, services were developed using JAVA and SOAP-based web services.

Finally, all batch and mass-processing jobs were also developed using JAVA, ensuring robustness and scalability for high-volume operations.
