Online Vehicle Insurance Sale SystemSeguros Ripley is part of Banco Ripley, which in turn belongs to Ripley Corp, a Chilean company founded in 1956 that began operations as a department store retailer. Today, Ripley Corp operates in Chile and Peru and also participates in the ownership of shopping malls in both countries.
For Seguros Ripley, Tecnova developed an online insurance sales platform that enables the digital sale of automotive insurance to its customer base.
Thanks to this project and the automation of the sales process, customers can enter their vehicle information online, while also selecting key attributes such as deductible amounts and coverage types.
Once the required information is submitted, the platform displays all available insurance offers from multiple insurance companies, allowing customers to compare options and choose the most suitable policy.
Finally, after selecting one of the available offers, customers can complete the purchase process and proceed with payment or subscription using the enabled digital payment methods.
The online insurance sales platform integrates, at a minimum, the following technical and functional components:
As a result of this project, a significant portion of the tasks related to insurance quotation and purchase were successfully automated. This led to an improved user experience, while enabling Seguros Ripley to maintain a 24/7 product offering through its digital channel.
The system was implemented using JAVA/JEE, the JSF framework, an Oracle Database, and SOAP-based web services for integration with external systems.
The project was delivered over an 8-month period and followed a Waterfall development methodology, with processes aligned to CMMI-DEV standards. The project team included professionals in management roles, functional analysts, software developers, graphic designers, and QA analysts.
